Start thinking about summer camp
Each summer, the West End YMCA brings nearly 200 children to the mountains near Big Bear for a weeklong experience at Camp Oakes. Campers paddle canoes and catch fish at the lake, hit bullseyes at the archery range, challenge themselves on the high ropes obstacle course, and sing songs around the campfire at night.

Annual Parish Fiesta draws 15,000
The annual Fiesta at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish Fiesta drew an estimated 15,000 people Mother’s Day weekend to the parish grounds on Berkeley Avenue.
