LA County Fair Goes Pop!
Adults can taste over 200 Gold-medal Winners selected from 3,000 wines at the Fair’s Los Angeles International Wine Competition (LAIWC), which is the platform for an extensive wine education program featuring industry experts with extensive knowledge about wine growing, selection, evaluation, food pairings, and more.

Coming up: 7th Annual Route 66 Cruisin’ Reunion, Sept. 20-21
This annual event, held on the third weekend in September, is free to the public and encompasses approximately twenty-two city blocks with classic cars parking to show and shine plus cruisin’ for two days along the streets of downtown Ontario..

Fix up rentals
Prospective tenants always notice the condition of the carpeting or other flooring when viewing a home, so make sure any stained or threadbare carpet gets cleaned or replaced before showing. You don’t have to break the bank when choosing new carpeting; a medium grade carpet in a neutral color will do just fine.

Pennies, and leaders, truly add up
Some 34 sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students participated in this year’s Glendora Kiwanianne’s Leadership Academy - a week-long leadership program. In addition to learning valuable social and leadership skills, the young people collected $107.84 in pennies for the Shepherd’s Pantry food bank.

University of La Verne adds PACE partners
New partners include: Aspire Ollin Preparatory Academy, National College Resources Foundation, Math Literacy Project, Pomona Catholic High School, Bishop Amat Memorial High School, Beaumont Unified School District, Riverside Unified School District, Compton Unified School District, and Corona/Norco Unified School District.

Havana Bingo fundraiser, Oct. 11, Claremont
The nonprofit will host the annual fundraiser, “Havana Bingo Night, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11 at Padua Hills Theatre in Claremont. The evening will include food tastings from local vendors, beer and wine, a silent auction and Bingo with LA’s legendary “Bingo Boy” Jeffrey Bowman.
