The charity was founded by Nick Arquette, a Manhattan Beach entrepreneur whose mother’s cancer when he was 11 impacted his life forever. To honor her memory and to aid others going through similarsituations,Arquette gathered like-minded members of the community to help.

The reason, in a word, is trauma. In fact, trauma is the common denominator for all the children we see at Children’s Institute. Untreated trauma can impact healthy development and lead to behavior problems, difficulties in school, chronic physical health issues and substance abuse later in life.

FESTIVAL OF ARTS OF LAGUNA BEACH ENCOURAGES CREATIVE EXPRESSION
In addition to its main events, the Festival of Arts is dedicated to encouraging children and young adults in the appreciation and pursuit of the arts though its scholarship and education programs. Free art workshops are held during the summer season at the Festival of Arts in printmaking, ceramics and more.
