Planners, artists talk live-work spaces
Based on recent input from local artists, the Planning Commission will request a year-long extension of a moratorium on artist live-work projects in Laguna Canyon to conduct more research. A commission subcommittee has scheduled three public workshops to resolve issues that have plagued the ordinance.

Professor: Housing market back to normal in 2014
In fact, it wasn’t all bad news this week on the housing front. A report on Tuesday — the S&P/Case-Shiller home price index of major cities — shows prices in July climbed for the fourth month in a row. Prices rose 0.9% in July compared with June, but they’re still 4.
