Longtime Foothills Rep. David Dreier has been tapped to lead a special commission with a focus on trade for The Annenberg Retreat at Sunnylands.
As part of the Annenberg DaViD DREiER Retreat at Sunnylands, The Annenberg- Dreier Commission will develop new agendas for advancing trade across Asia and the Americas.
“It is an honor to continue public service through this Commission and to carry on the legacy and vision of Lee and Walter Annenberg,” said Dreier, who retired from Congress in December after not seeking another term. “We must continue to work
tirelessly to promote the free flow of goods, services, capital, ideas and people.”
During his more than three decades in Congress, Dreier worked with Democratic and Republican administrations to advance free trade and democracy.
Three decades in Congress First elected to Congress in 1980, Dreier became a member of the House leadership when he took the helm of the House Committee on Rules in 1999.
He graduated cum laude in 1975 from Claremont McKenna College.
Dreier earned a master’s degree in American government from Claremont Graduate University the following year.
