Sound Tuning Forks Healing

Admission: $10 Sound vibrations balance the body by traveling through the body’s muscle and connective tissue. Tuning forks emanate the perfect fifth frequency, eliciting the correct harmonious state for healing for cellular particles. It’s a trance-like experience and feels like an energy massage.

I Love Chorus

The event will allow attendees to meet new friends, play games and learn various songs. Participants will learn basic singing skills and enjoy practice reading music.

4:15-5:15 p.m., Claremont Community School of Music, 951 W. Foothill Blvd. Cost: Tuition is $130, with a $10 material fee and $20 registration fee. This class is for children ages 10 to 13. The class will focus on ear training, sight-singing and performance technique through games and songs. This class will culminate in an informal performance for friends and family.

This is a fun, supportive and challenging class to help teen singers develop healthy, confident and beautiful voices. Through proven techniques, students will grow as performers, musicians and soloists. The class is open to those ages 13 to 17.
Adult voice
6:30-7:30 p.m., Claremont Community School of Music, 951 W. Foothill Blvd. Cost: Tuition is $130, with a $10 material fee and $20 registration fee. This is a supportive and challenging class for all levels. Using active relaxation and simple breathing techniques, students develop confident and capable singing voices. The class is for those ages 18 and older.

Guitar for young beginners
3:30-4:25 p.m., Claremont Community School of Music, 951 W. Foothill Blvd. Cost: Tuition is $150, with a $10 material fee and $20 registration fee. This class is open to guitarists ages 6 to 11. Students learn proper technique to strum chords, pluck single notes, guitar percussion, as well as tuning, learning folk songs by ear, and beginning to read standard notation for the guitar.

In this class, students explore basic rhythms, note reading and techniques using playful songs, percussion instruments and ensemble games. This class will have different themes throughout the year and may be taken up to three times. The class if for children ages 4 to 5.

Rethinking Global Capitalism
Through Intimate Industries in Asia 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Hahn Building, 420 Harvard Ave.
This workshop will examine the distinctive elements of markets for intimate industries, and account for the construction of race, gender, sexuality and nation in the process of marketized intimate labor.
