Claremont Symphony Orchestra concert 3:30 p.m., Bridges Hall of Music. Pomona College, 150 E. Fourth St. The Claremont Symphony Orchestra will present a free concert titled “A United States Landscape.” Associate conductor, Ruth Charloff will lead the symphony in a variety of contemporary pieces that reflect the history and culture of our country. Featured is “Souvenir de Porto Rico” by Louis Moreau Gottschalk, the suite from the Hitchcock film “Vertigo” by Bernard Herrmann, “Afro-American Symphony” by William Grant Still and selections from Gershwin’s “Porgy and Bess.” Charloff conducts the UCR Orchestra and other ensembles at the University of California Riverside.
