The Los Osos High School Grizzlies placed fourth overall in the veteran division of the 12th annual Solar Cup competition held recently at Lake Skinner in Temecula. The Los Osos High students – known as Team Solar Cub – competed against 40 other high school teams throughout Southern California. The team was sponsored by the Cucamonga Valley Water District and the Inland Empire Utilities Agency. They spent eight months building a solarpowered boat, attending technical workshops, submitting technical reports and producing a conservation brochure or 30-second public service announcement.
