San Dimas Festival of Arts to feature 38th Western Art Exhibition

An array of fine art will fill the gallery when the San Dimas Festival of Arts stages its 38th Western Art Exhibition and Sale Sept. 25-27 in Civic Center Plaza.

Work by 33 artists, including Featured Artist Vic Riesau, will be unveiled at the Premier Opening at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 25. This will include a hosted reception with wine and hors d’oeuvres. Admission is $40 and reservations are required.

Riesau is a founding artist of the Masters of the American West Exhibitions

at the Autry National Center in Los Angeles. He will give a seminar, “Acknowledging the Fourth Dimension,” at 11 am, Sept. 26.

An artist’s Quick Draw, in which each participant completes a work in one hour, will follow the seminar. The completed works will be auctioned, with charity auctioneer Sean Kelly, host of Tru TV’s “Storage Hunters,” is set to enliven the bidding. The Artists’ Awards Dinner, a no-host event with a $30 fee, will top off the day’s events. “Best of Show” and gold, silver and bronze medal winners will

be announced. Reservations are required.

On Sunday, Sculptor Richard Myer reprises his “Play in Clay” workshop in which participants, young and old, are given a lesson in sculpting. The Artists’ Auction, including pieces not available in the gallery, again features Kelly as auctioneer.

The gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 26, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 27. For information or dinner reservations, call the Festival office at 909-599-5374 or visitwww. sandimasarts.com.
