$500,000 AWARDED TO LOCAL NONPROFITS

GREGORY BRADBARD PRESIDENT & CEO INLAND EMPIRE UNITED WAY
Over the coming year, more than $500,000 will be invested in local nonprofit organizations by Inland Empire United Way. Following a detailed volunteerdriven review process, 37 organizations demonstrated their ability to impact lives in the areas of education, health and financial stability.
Among those receiving funding are a variety of programs assisting individuals and families in need throughout the Inland Empire. Grants up to $25,000 will be provided to an array of homeless shelters, afterschool programs, tutoring organizations and health programs.
Organizations
serving the Foothills region include Inland Valley Hope Partners,
Uncommon Good, House of Ruth, Mercy House, Foothill Family Shelter,
Samaritan Counseling Center, Shoes That Fit, GAP Food Bank, Hope Through
Housing and many others.
The
Learning Centers at Fairplex in Pomona will receive support for the
Career and Technical Education Center, which works to prepare
underprivileged youth for future employment. Funds will be used for
hands-on training and education by industry professionals aimed
at equipping students for real-world careers in agriculture, automotive,
arts, hospitality and environmental sustainability.
In
the past year, United Way funding helped 503 CTEC students discover
their passion and start down the path toward a state-ofthe-art career.
As
Jamie, a local high school student shared, “I’m so excited about my
future because of the opportunity I have to be a CTEC art student. I
look forward to finishing my education and becoming a teacher where I
can help students like me find their
passion too!” Each year, thousands of donors pool their funds through
United Way to help provide a safety net for those in need and to build
stronger futures for youth in the Inland Empire. Over the past 12
months, 10,000 dedicated donors did their part to contribute. And, in
addition to the grants to local charities, an additional $1.041 million
was directed by Inland Empire residents to a variety of nonprofit
organizations nationwide!
To
those of you who contribute and help to make this work possible, thank
you. You can join me knowing our investment in 37 local nonprofits will
touch thousands of lives this year.
