Associated Artists of the Inland Empire celebrates its golden anniversary with the 50th Annual Juried Art Show, which will be held Sept. 5- Sept. 7 at the Victoria Gardens Cultural Center’s Celebration Hall.
The annual show, which features between 300 and 400 works by artists from throughout the Inland Valley, is cosponsored by the city of Rancho Cucamonga and the Rancho Cucamonga Community and Arts Foundation.
Highlights of the 50th AAIE exhibit include the awards ceremony and reception from 7:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sept. 5; a chalk festival featuring local junior high students on Saturday; and a video presentation reflecting on AAIE’s 50 years of promoting the visual arts in the Inland Valley.
A raffle and silent auction will be part of the festivities, with prizes awarded on Sunday afternoon.
Demonstrations by AAIE artists will take place throughout the weekend.
A special fundraiser, “50 Art Works for 50 Years,” will feature pieces by AAIE members, which will be assembled as a quilt.
The individual 8-by- 8-inch panels, in various media, will be sold for $20 each to fund the organization’s ongoing art programs.
The public is invited to attend the show, including the awards ceremony and reception.
The show runs from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday.
