More than 40 members of Delta Nu, the local branch of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, met recently in Glendora for their Kick- Off Brunch.
Members discussed upcoming activities for the year, learned about sessions and emerging programs presented at and members attended during the summer, and organized themselves to help achieve Delta Nu’s goals for the upcoming year.
Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is an organization that promotes the professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education.
Some of the ways Delta educational excellence are by giving scholarships to local teachers for projects they wish to implement in their classrooms, awarding student teachers Grants in Aid, the Books for Laundromats project and support of Serenity House and Wings.
Retired member donate many hours to the THAT program, also known as Teachers Helping Other Teachers. Delta Nu members are also active in speaking about educational law/policy issues.
One of the organization’s major fundraisers, to help support our scholar fund, is an inspiring event held at the Glendora Public Library in the spring. The community is invited.
