The Kiwanis Club of Claremont recently celebrated the 91st and Directors with an awards dinner.

Leading the club this year as president will be Dennis Bauman. Serving Wylie, secretary; Mike Rodriguez, treasurer; President-Elect Eric Garton; First Vice President Patricia Henny; and Immediate Past President Ed Leavell.

Elected as directors are Carl Gaiser, Sue rant.

The Club Member of the Year Award was presented to Rugeley for her outstanding participation with most of the club’s projects.

The primary focus of the club is to serve the children of the community by working with the Claremont Uni- continue projects such as the “READ-ME” program, as well as high school scholarships, Best Bet in partnership with the Claremont Chamber of Commerce, Shoes that Fit, Special Olympics and the Claremont Education Foundation.

Partnering with the city of Claremont, the club helps to present the annual summer Concerts in the Park by organiz- weeks the concession booth that pays for the bands. Additionally, the club assists with Community Celebration Pancake Breakfast, and the concession booth at the Fireworks Show.

Seniors citizens are assisted by club members helping with the monthly food distribution, and by providing funds for the annual Senior Prom and the Meals on Wheels program.

The Kiwanis Club welcomes local residents interested in assisting their community to visit their weekly lunch meetings held at noon, every Thursday, at St. Ambrose Church Fellowship Hall, 830 W. Bonita Ave., Claremont.
