The Ontario Fury, the professional indoor soccer driven by Mark Christopher Chevrolet, recently clinched a spot in the Major Arena Soccer League postseason with an 11-10 victory over the Sacramento Surge on Saturday at McClellan Park in Sacramento.

The win clinched a playoff berth for the Fury, with the top three teams in the Pacific Division earning a spot in the postseason. The playoff format will have the second- and third-place teams playing in the opening round, with the winner moving on to take on the top seed.

Jamar Beasley and Johnny Topete each scored four times for Ontario, as the Fury had to weather several rallies from the Surge. Ontario led 7-3 at the half, but Sacramento rallied back within one goal before Topete scored back-to-back goals for Ontario – one on a power play and the other shorthanded – as Ontario held a 9-6 lead after three quarters.

Sacramento again closed within one to start the fourth quarter, as Redlands, Calif., native Norman Leveque led the Surge offense with a goal and assist to start the fourth. But Beasley scored his third and fourth goals of the night 59 seconds apart to give Ontario an 11-8 lead.

But the Surge scored twice with the extra attacker 55 seconds apart, closing with one with 1:03 to go. Ontario, however, was able to parry away any extra Sacramento attempts and run out the clock.
