 Michael Obermeyer, Signature California Art Club member and long- time Laguna plein air painter, will have a solo show at Hillside Fine Art in Claremont in March. The show is entitled “Michael Obermeyer’s Canvas: The Beach and Beyond.” Obermeyer is a master at creating atmosphere in his landscape and urban paintings. Known for his oil paintings of Laguna and Catalina, he has won awards for his paintings of Pomona Valley, Grand Canyon, and Inland Orange County. He captures early morning mist and evening shadows reminiscent of the old masters of California painting. He also is known for his canvases of Paris and has collectors worldwide. Obermeyer has been one of Hillside’s gallery artists since it opened in June 2014. Obermeyer added Hillside to his roster of galleries, which includes James Rieser Fine Art in Carmel and the Fairmont Gallery in Sonoma. Obermeyer has a booth at the Festival of Arts outside the Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach each summer. Obermeyer has been juried in as a Signature Member of the highly regarded California Art Club. Celebration of Art and the Gold Medal at the Carmel Art Festival. Obermeyer will have many new works on display and for sale through March at Hillside Fine Art.
