Esperanza Scholarship Foundation Dollars for Scholars awarded 60 scholarships Saturday at the Annual Mayor’s Gala at Chaffey High School Gardiner Spring Auditorium.

An estimated 1,500 cheering parents, friends and donors attended.

The 60 scholars were treated to performances by pop singer Vicki Cabrera and a parade of local artists.

All proceeds benefit local scholars that meet the Foundation’s scholastic qualifications and community service requirements.

The Esperanza Scholarship Foundation, established in 1991, has awarded more than $1.1 million to students in the Inland Empire.

The foundation formalized its longstanding relationship with Dollars for Scholars in 2013, a Scholarship America program with more than 700 locally based, volunteer-driven affiliates serving students in thousands of communities across the country.
