The Inland Valley Interfaith Working Group for Mideast Peace, made up of various faith-based organizations, in June sponsored an Iftar event at Temple Beth Israel in Pomona. Iftar is an Islamic religious observance of Ramadan. The event was attended by over 200 people of many faiths. Participating groups included Inland Valley Interfaith Working Group for Mideast Peace, the Islamic Center of Claremont, City of Knowledge, Middle Ground Muslim Center with additional financial support from Temple Beth Israel, Unity Church, Dr. Thom Johnson, TBI Sisterhood and Upland Interfaith Council.
