The Executive Women International Pomona Valley Chapter presented ASIST scholarships during the June 3rd Annual 2017 Women’s Leadership Conference in Claremont.

The scholarships help local women in transition to further their educational goals as they work to create a better life for themselves and their families.

“Despite their individual challenges, these amazing and resilient women want to not only help themselves and their families but seek careers to help others. They are role models for anyone met with adversity and are examples to us all,” said Lorraine Kindred, president of the Pomona Valley Chapter, which covers the San Gabriel Valley and Inland Empire.

Sara Sollars is a mother of two children pursuing a nursing degree from Mt. San Antonio College. The scholarship will support her goal of becoming a pediatric or oncology nurse.
