The Shakespeare Club of Pomona Valley begins its 113th season with a talk by co-founder, Beatrice Casagran of Ophelia’s Jump. If you saw “Hamlet” or “Much Ado about Nothing” at the Sontag Greek Theater at Pomona College this summer, you may learn why the Ghost and Hamlet were played by the same actor, and why Lady McBark, a charming puppy, came to share the stage with the cast of “Much Ado.” Learn how the company prepares each year to stage Shakespeare outdoors, the ins and outs of choosing and adapting the plays, as well as auditioning and casting.

Seasoned professional actor and director, Beatrice Casagran, a Cuban native and former lawyer, teaches theater at Diamond Bar High School, and has been involved, as actor and/ or director, in such Ophelia’s Jump hits as Vanya, & Sonya & Masha & Spike; Titus Andronicus; August: Osage Orange Tree; and The Electric Baby. Light refreshments served. Free and open to the public.
