All ten Alta Loma School District schools are expected to be online with new bond-funded technology infrastructure by the end December.

The network improvements will provide additional access points at each campus so that entire classrooms can log on to the wireless network simultaneously without a reduction in performance.

This includes times when computers or devices are viewing video content, which consumes more bandwidth than documents or other smaller files.

“We’re transforming how students are being prepared for the future,” said Alta Loma School District Superintendent James Moore. “Technology is changing how our students access and acquire new information.”

Both Alta Loma and Vineyard junior high schools will receive 140 new Chromebooks apiece, and the eight elementary schools will each add 70 new Chromebooks. The new devices add to ALSD’s plan to make Chromebooks available for any student or teacher that needs one for classroom use.

The district’s new math and English/ language arts instructional materials all come with considerable digital resources.
