
The Wall That Heals, a mobile replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, will arrive 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 21 at Fairplex, Gate #1, 1101 W. McKinley, Pomona.
Aspecial escort for the Wall will begin at 10 a.m. and travel through parts of the cities of Pomona, La Verne, Glendora, Covina and then to the hosting location in San Dimas at Lone Hill Middle School, 700 S. Lone Hill.
‘The Wall’ will be escorted by patriotic clubs, police, fire departments and others.
The special event is hosted by hosted by San Dimas H.E.R.O.E.S (Helping Establish a Remembrance Of Every Serviceperson), with heartfelt community support and sponsors.

‘The Wall That Heals’ will be at Lone Hill Middle School March 22 - 25. The wall will be open 24 hours a day for all four days.
Amobile education center will honor the more than three million Americans who served in the Armed forces in the Vietnam War. The wall bears the names of more than 58,000 men and woman who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam. The schedule includes:
Wednesday March 21 – 9 a.m.: Escort staging at Fairplex, Gate #1, 1101 W. McKinley, Pomona – 10 a.m.: Escort of the wall from Fairplex through the cities of Pomona, La Verne, Glendora, Covina and San Dimas to Lone Hill Middle School.
– 11 a.m.: Arrival at Lone Hill Middle School – 12 p.m.: Wall Setup – 5:30 pm: Volunteer Training

Saturday March 24 7 p.m.: Candle Light Vigil

Co-sponsors include the City of San Dimas, Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger, San Dimas Community Hospital, Walmart and ADP. Other supporting sponsors include CareMeridian, Golden State Water Company, Inland Valley Humane Society, Casa Colina Hospital and Centers for Healthcare, and Fairplex, Pomona.
‘Wall’ essay contest
The
H.E.R.O.E.S organization is sponsoring an essay contest for students
grades 6 through 12. Students are asked to write a one-page essay
focusing on their visit/reaction to “The Wall.” Students who wish to
enter the contest may pick up a graphic organizer to help guide their
writings at the H.E.R.O.E.S booth located near the wall.
Local
schools are welcomed to participate and are asked to send in the top
three essays from each grade level (6-12). If a school isn’t
participating, students may submit their essays on their own.
Essays
should be mailed to San Dimas HEROES Essay Contest, PO Box 4216, San
Dimas, CA 91773 or emailed to SanDimasHEROES@aol.com. All essays must be
received by April 6, 2018 to be eligible.
Ascholarship
prize of $100 will be awarded to one student at each grade level. For
