   The Pomona Concert Band will present the annual Christmas Concert titled “The Sounds of Christmas,” 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14. The concert will be in the
Palomares Park Community Center, 499 E. Arrow Hwy in Pomona and is
sponsored by the City of Pomona. The concert is free to the public.
Refreshments will be served at intermission. The
Master of Ceremonies for the evening will be Edmund Fry, of the Rose
Tree Cottage, in Pasadena, and the color guard will be headed by
Heriberto Feliciano, USAF, Retired. The concert will feature many selections that highlight favorite Christmas melodies including: “The Sounds of Christmas” by James Swearingen, “Fantasia on Silent Night” by Julian Bond, “Gesu Bambino” arranged by Dr. Garcia will feature vocalists Isaac Gonzalez and Mary Stone, “The Rhythms of Christmas” by Frank Erickson, “Westminster Carol” by James Hosey, “African Holy Night” by R.W. Smith, and “Cowboy Christmas” by Jeff Simmons. The La Verne Youth Ensemble will also be performing several holiday tunes at the concert. The
Pomona Concert Band is under the baton of Linda W. Taylor, Conductor
and Musical Director, and Assistant Conductors Dr. Garcia and Kerry
