Talking to Bob Stane at
the Coffee Gallery Backstage about our next show, I asked if it would
be OK to have some friends join us. He said, “Great idea. Why not have
some of your talented family join in, too?” Well, the lineup is all set
for 7 p.m. Saturday, March 16 at The Coffee Gallery Backstage, 2029 N.
Lake Ave. Altadena. Debbie Burgan and I have invited five very talented
singers and musicians to join us for one & Friends Extravaganza –
with a big exclamation mark.
We’ll be joined throughout the evening by:
• Tholow Chan, our
longtime friend who’s toured with us since the 70’s, a great bass
singer, very funny, and an unofficial Burgan. When not working with us,
he is also the bassist with Randy Sparks and the New Christy Minstrels.
• Terry Rangno joined We Five in 1972 and continues to appear with us for the
band’s concerts. David Caris is a talented singer/ songwriter/guitarist
and will join us on guitar for several classic We Five tunes.
• Jeremy Burgan is
the #2 Burgan son: a versatile musician who you might have seen on one
of the final Letterman shows with the Indie rock band, In The Valley
Below.
• Courtney Burgan, Jeremy’s wife and visionary leader of King Courtney and the Dukes, will be joining the festivities for several Burgans’ tunes.
Bob, my family and friends, and I, hope to see you in Altadena for a special night. Reservations: (626) 798-6236.
Musician, folk historian and author Jerry Burgan first became known as a member of the 60’s folk-rock group We Five, which he co-founded with the late Michael Stewart.
