MainStreet Theatre Company presents The Emperor’s Nightingale, based in the tale by Hans Christian Andersen, Saturdays and Sundays, May 4 through 19, with a special added event, Spring Time Tea, 2:15 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at the Lewis Family Playhouse, Victoria Gardens Cultural Center, Rancho Cucamonga.
The 43rd Annual Festival of Arts in San Dimas will be Friday, April 26 through Sunday, April 28, featuring some 30 nationally and internationally recognized artists, in a showcase of varying mediums, genres, and styles. The exhibition will open be at Civic Center Plaza, 245 E. Bonita Ave., San Dimas. The format for the show highlights the beauty of California. The exhibit is open and free on Saturday and Sunday and the public is invited.
The 2nd Community Network at The Graber Olive House will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 2, featuring no-host wine and local craft beer, and complimentary light refreshments at the historic location, 315 E 4th St., Ontario. There will be hors d’oeuvres, music, raffle, and – of course – Graber Olives. Shops will be open with a variety of fancy foods, food accessories and unique gifts.
Planes of Fame Air Museum presents the Planes of Fame Air Show, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 4-5, with a special commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of D-Day. Featuring over 50 historic aircraft, including the P-47 Thunderbolt, P-38 Lightning and P-51 Mustangs, the event honors the history, contributions and sacrifices of veterans. Jubilee! a concert by the La Verne Church of the Brethren Sanctuary Choir will be 7 p.m. Saturday, May 11 at 2425 E Street in La Verne. The choir will perform works inspired by the legacy of the Jubilee Singers, including spirituals arranged by Moses Hogan, William Dawson and André Thomas.
