 The Pomona Concert Band will present the annual Spring Concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 19, in the Palomares Park Community Center, sponsored by the City of Pomona Community Services Department. The concert is free to the public and refreshments will be served at intermission. The Color Guard is headed up by Sr. MSgt. Ret. Heriberto Feliciano and the Master of Ceremonies for the concert will be Pomona City Councilwoman Elizabeth Ontiveros- Cole. The concert’s featured numbers are “Italian Polka” by Sergei Rachmaninoff, arranged by Eric Leidzen, three pieces arranged for band by John R. Bourgeois; “Vienna Jubilation Overture” by Franz von Suppe, “Cossack Dance” by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, and “Galop from Genevieve de Brabant” by Jacques Offenbach; Also, “The Song of the Spirit Dance” by Leon Steward, “Stepping Along” by Edwin Franko Goldman, “Three Celtic Dances” by Brian Balmages, “Belle of the Ball” by Leroy Anderson, “Skydance” by Robert Sheldon and “Washington Post March” by John Philip Sousa. The Pomona Concert Band will perform 8:30 a.m. Monday, May 27 at the City of Pomona’s Memorial Day Program at the Pomona Cemetery, 502 E Franklin Ave., Pomona.
