Two local Lions Clubs are teaming up June 1 to provide free vision screening and eye glasses to those who lack vision insurance.

The Friends in Sight event, presented by Pomona Host and Chino Valley Lions Clubs, will be 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Fremont Academy, 725 W. Franklin Ave., Pomona.

Volunteer eye doctors and optometry students will check vision and write prescriptions. Lions will search through hundreds of eye glasses and fulfill the prescriptions. If there are no prescriptions in inventory, prescriptions will be made and delivered to patients later.

Patients will be served on a first-come, first-served.
