Nov. 8: Salute to Service, Chino Hills

The City of Chino Hills will host “Salute to Service,” an event to honor veterans, 8:15 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8 at the Chino Hills Community Center, 14250 Peyton Drive.

The Kiwanis Club of Chino Hills will prepare and serve a free breakfast to registered veterans, their guests, and the public.

Space is limited to the first 200 patrons.

Registration is available online at www.chinohills.org/Veterans. To register by telephone, please call (909) 364-2705. Registration is not required to attend the 10:00 a.m. outdoor ceremony.

The public is encouraged to attend and show their support for veterans. Aslideshow presentation will highlight veterans’ names and branch of service at the breakfast. Veterans can be included in the presentation by completing an online form available at www.chinohills.org/Veterans.

Nov. 9: Ontario Squadron 112

Ontario Sons of The American Legion (S.A.L.) Squadron 112 will host a Veterans Day dinner and event, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 9 at Ontario American Legion Post 112, 310 W. Emporia St., Ontario. The program will include guest speakers, prize drawings, and live music provided by the band “Conspiracy Radio,” a SoCal favorite.

“We welcome the community to stop by and visit the Post for this special event, not only for the excellent dinner, but to meet Sons of The American Legion, Auxiliary, and Legion members,” Squadron 112 Commander Clayton Bush said.

Nov. 11: San Dimas H.E.R.O.E.S.

San Dimas H.E.R.O.E.S. (Helping Establish a Remembrance Of Every Serviceperson) Annual Veterans Day Celebration at will p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, at Freedom Park in San Dimas (corner of San Dimas Ave and Commercial St).

The ceremony will include the unveiling of San Dimas Veteran names that have been added to the veteran’s wall this year.

Other activities will include the raising of the new military flags, a bagpiper, the San Dimas High School choir, and more. The event is open to the public. Seating is limited so you might want to bring your own chair. For more information visit our website at www.SanDimasHEROES.org.

Nov. 11: City of Chino

The City of Chino first annual Veterans Day Ceremony will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, at the Chino Liberty Courtyard, located at the Community Building, 5443 B Street, to show appreciation for members of all branches of the military.

The event will include a flag ceremony, speakers, and presentation of military branch flags by Chino families who currently have family members serving in the military. For information call (909) 334-3258.
