larger proportions out-of-state and international buyers, said Coleen Brennan, an agent with Prudential California in Corona del Mar.

“People who are visiting may fall in love with the area and want to move here,” Brennan said.

For those on vacation or here visiting family, the first step after they’ve realized that they are interested in the area is to go online to gather more information. Brennan’s online listings have seen a spike in traffic in the last few weeks.

Even though it’s the holiday season, people will buy when they have both the time and the money to do so, she explained.

“There are a lot of people who don’t celebrate and don’t necessarily respect that you celebrate a particular holiday,” Brennan said. “They’re going to want what they want and you need to be responsive and be prepared to show them a house if that’s when they’re ready.”
