Renown architect
Robert Earl designed estate. Located in Harbor Ridge, Newport Beach’s most exclusive gated community, 5 Trafalgar was designed by Earl as a private residence in the 1980s. Nestled on a lush coastal hilltop, on a 15,000 square foot lot, the home extends about 5,700 square feet with extensive hardwood floors, custom built fireplaces, and an open use of space forming an expansive residential portfolio of five bedrooms and seven baths. Boasting a rich Mediterranean style, the home is surrounded by lavish Italian gardens, ornate fountains, and gazebo-crowned ocean-view terraces.
Earl – sometimes referred to as the ‘Frank Gehry’ of custom estates – designed the residences of famous celebrities such as Madonna, Warren Beatty, Sylvester Stallone, Nancy Sinatra, Michael Landon, Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gourmet, Vince Scully, Gary Shandling, Sela Ward, and Vanna White. Globally, Earl designed the palace for H.R.H. Prince Faisal bin Khaled bin Sultan in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
In addition, Earl designed the estates of Barron Hilton in Beverly Hills; Richard Cook, chairman of Disney Pictures; Alan Hirschfield, former CEO of 20th Century Fox; and Jenny Craig, chairman of Jenny Craig, Inc. Donald Trump selected Earl as the architect for Trump’s 300 acre, ocean-view golf course – including 36 custom residences surrounding the course – at Rancho Palos Verdes in Los Angeles. Earl has also been selected as the architect for the restoration of historical trust properties such as a famous 1940s Wallace Neff designed home adjacent to the Los Angeles Country Club in Beverly Hills.
Earl’s work for international celebrities and business moguls is prevalent in Asia and the Middle East, as well as throughout the Americas. In
California, Earl is best known for his design of custom estates in such prestigious areas as Beverly Hills, Palm Springs, Newport Beach, Rancho Santa Fe, and Hillsborough in the San Francisco Bay area.
