Local Realtors hosting Dove Canyon Garage Sale

Kelly Klug, Ellen Parker and Joan Bannigan of Prudential California Realty are hosting the 5th Annual Dove Canyon Garage Sale, on Saturday, October 6, from 7 a.m. - 2 p.m., together with a colleague from another firm. Hundreds of homeowners will be participating; they have been saving for the big sale all year.

Every year after the sale the homeowners from Dove Canyon generously donate unwanted items to the Salvation Army. As a result of the sale last year four truckloads of donations were sent directly to the charity. “It’s really heartwarming to see how much everyone in Dove Canyon loves donating to a worthy cause,” Bannigan said.

Klug came up with garage sale idea six years ago. Parker and Bannigan joined in and today the community homeowners will say it’s their favorite event in Dove Canyon. “It takes a lot of planning to make it successful,” Klug said. “Ads to write and advertising to get out, but when the big day is here it makes us so happy to see all the happy residents.”

Parker adds, “ It’s always fun to spend time with our fellow agents and neighbors.”

The sale will be held rain or shine. A wide variety of items will be available, including furniture, electronics, tools, sporting goods and toys. “Last year a set of seven foot Chipmunks were sold for $30,” laughs Bannigan. “After that Alvin was spotted riding around in the back of a red pickup truck all day.”
