Jansen grew up in a historical country town in Western Australia and traveled the world, eventually settling in Paris.
He then met a Southern California girl in Amsterdam who convinced him to visit Southern California. Twenty years later, Jansen is still here and he and his wife, Deborah, have raised two sons in Cowan Heights. Jansen and his wife have lived in North Tustin for more than 20 years.
