In Encino, a fresh start

Earlier this year, the Chargers franchise found a new home in L.A., and now its longest-tenured star has done the same.

Decorated tight end Antonio Gates and his wife, “WAGs” personality Sasha Gates, have purchased a newly built home in Encino for the asking price of $6.995 million.

Reached by a winding and gated driveway, the contemporary-style home emphasizes clean lines, retractable walls of glass and open spaces in its 8,500 square feet of living space.

Eye-catching details include a floating staircase, a screening room and a glass-enclosed wine cellar/tasting room. A floor-toceiling wall fireplace divides the family room and center-island kitchen. The master suite, which features two walk-in closets and a spa-like bath, opens to a private terrace. There are six bedrooms and eight bathrooms in all.

Acovered patio space with an outdoor kitchen and fireplace feature creates additional living space outdoors. An infinity-edge swimming pool, a basketball halfcourt and a four-car garage make up the grounds.

Patricia Phillips of Rodeo Realty was the listing agent. Brittney Hinds of eXp Realty of California represented the buyers.

Antonio Gates, 37, has been in sell mode of late, divesting himself of his Poway home in May and selling another home in Hollywood Hills West.

The eight-time Pro Bowler is the Chargers’ all-time record holder for receiving yards (11,192) and touchdown catches (111) and is tied with Tony Gonzalez for the most scores by a tight end in NFL history.

Quiet sale for Kanye West

After several attempts to hook abuyer, rapper and fashion designer Kanye West has quietly sold his longtime home in Hollywood Hills West for $2.95 million.

Built in 2002, the multilevel house features sweeping views, open-plan spaces and plenty of character. Of note is a cartoon-like mural in the dining room and a fish tank in the master bathroom. Aformal entry, a breakfast room, a den, a home theater, three bedrooms and four bathrooms are within more than 4,200 square feet of living space. Balconies on three levels allow for indoor-outdoor living.

The purchase took place outside the Multiple Listing Service.

West previously listed the house for sale in 2010 for $3.995 and, more recently, in 2013 for $3.3 million. Records show he bought the property in 2003 for $1.75 million.

West, 40, is one of the bestselling hip-hop artists of all time.

Among his records is “The College Dropout,” “Graduation” and “Yeezus.” Last year he released the album “The Life of Pablo.”

He and his wife, reality television personality Kim Kardashian, also own property in Bel-Air and Hidden Hills.

Moving fast on the market

Prolific actress Missi Pyle is poised for a quick sale in the hills of Sherman Oaks.

The actress’ traditional-style home is now listed as “pending” after listing in late July for $899,000, according to the MLS.

Set up from the street, the crisp-white house was built in 1949 and has canyon, city-light and mountain views.

Hardwood and ceramic tile floors, arched doorways and plantation shutters are among features of the two-bedroom, 1.5-bathroom house, which has fireplaces in the living room and den. French doors lead from the dining room to a wraparound porch. Expansive patio space, a spa, planters and mature trees fill out the backyard. There’s also an attached garage.

Leah Lail of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage holds the listing.

Pyle, 44, has acting credits that include “As Good as It Gets” (1997), “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” (2005) and “Gone Girl” (2014). This year she will appear in the action-adventure movie “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.”

She bought the house three years ago for $729,000, public records show.
