Lakeside living with star appeal
This Toluca Lake residence made headlines two years ago when newlyweds Justin and Hailey Bieber made it their shortterm marital home. But a brief brush with fame is hardly the Spanish contemporary’s only selling point.

New direction for pop star Payne
The Spanish-style main house, though built in 1991, is full of Old World details. Of note are five fireplaces with carved limestone mantels, hand-hewn walnut flooring, beamed ceilings and custom chandeliers. A wood-paneled library draws the eyes upward with two levels of built-ins.

A small part in movie history
El Cabrillo is one of eight courtyard developments designed in the 1920s by Arthur and Nina Zwebell. The romantic building was commissioned by Cecil B. DeMille to house local and out-ofarea actors and writers. In the late 2000s, the structure was renovated and restored by architect Xorin Balbes.
