There are many things that make San Diego special, including beautiful weather, great beaches and a rich cultural history. High on the list are the innovative businesses and hard-working service-providers who make our lives better with their commitment to quality, along with exceptional customer service.
In their honor, today we’re thrilled to celebrate the winners of our 28th annual San Diego’s Best Union-Tribune Readers Poll, which recognizes the most loved goods, services and local hot spots San Diego has to offer.
Celebrating these extraordinary people, places and businesses is a highlight every year and we couldn’t do it without you. Thank you, readers, for helping us make San Diego’s Best the longest-running and most prestigious poll of its kind in the region.
As we have done for the past 28 years, we opened San Diego’s Best nominations to the community and let you, our readers, select your favorite businesses, attractions and services. After narrowing the list to those that received the greatest number of nominations, we opened the voting phase to determine the top choices in more than 210 categories.
This section includes a comprehensive list of the “Best” winners in each category and is a great reference for places to shop, dine and visit. In addition to those named “Best” – the ones that received the most votes – we also included up to four San Diego “Favorites” in each category. These are exceptional businesses, organizations and individuals that made it through the nomination phase and onto the final ballot, finishing in the top two-to-five spots – still an amazing accomplishment! (In categories where there are more than four favorites, there was a tie.)
