Alyce Morris Winston started the Jeffrey Foundation in 1972 from her dining room table, alone in a new town, with no support – just the iron will and desire to give her son Jeffrey, a beautiful boy whom she had adopted and later discovered had muscular dystrophy, the opportunity at life just like other kids who didn’t have special needs. Since its founding, The Jeffrey Foundation has served thousands of children with special needs, their families and caregivers in the Los Angeles area, providing vital services that would otherwise not have been available.
