The Candlelight Pavilion in Claremont is presenting a special original, familyfriendly holiday performance this month.

“Because it’s Christmas” runs through Saturday, Dec. 28 and will feature Christmas classics such as “Silent Night,” “Jingle Bells” and “O, Holy Night.”

The show follows the staff at the Nutty Pines Inn as they go all out to rescue their business during the holiday season. Christmas is fast approaching and everyone is full of warmth and happiness except those who work at the inn. A new highway has diverted traffic – and customers – away, and so after being in business for 60 years, Nutty Pines is closing its doors.

The owner, Nettie Nutty, and her cohort, Gladys, have decided to go out with a bang. They convince “a certain jolly man in a red suit” to stop by in hope of filling the inn one last time and making their last Christmas at the inn the best Christmas ever.

During the performance, children are able to fill out letters to Santa and are asked to join him on stage. And all audience members are encouraged to stick around after the show for a photo opportunity with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

The musical direction for “Because it’s Christmas” is by Douglas Austin, stage direction is by John LaLonde and choreography is by Alison Hooper.

Tickets range from $53 to $68 for adults and $25 for children 12 and younger, and include a meal, show and sales tax.
