Bruxie offers new locally-roasted specialty coffee Bruxie has introduced something new to its beloved gourmet waffle sandwich shops: a customcrafted coffee called the Bold Blend.

Partners Kelly Mullarney and Dean Simon set out to deliver a chefdriven coffee experience that would be bold and complex enough to stand up to and complement the flavors on the Bruxie menu. The locally-roasted specialty coffee features a proprietary blend of 100 percent fair trade imported coffee beans. The fourbean blend utilizes varying roasting techniques and styles to create a truly unique coffee experience.

All Bruxie locations offer full barista service with espresso-based beverages, including cappuccinos and signature-flavored lattes. The espresso served is created from the same blend used in the Bold Blend coffee.

Bruxie has locations throughout Southern California, including Brea, Chino Hills, Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, Irvine and Orange. Triathlon veterans and novices are preparing for the Grape Stomp Triathlon, 5K and Relay set for April 6.

The race will start at 7 a.m. at Chaffey College, 5885 Haven Ave., Rancho Cucamonga. This reverse triathlon – which officials say is easy enough for beginners and challenging enough for veterans – starts with a 5K run that leads into an eight-mile bicycle ride and ends with a 100-yard swim in the pool.

Participants will receive goodie bags filled with various products from the race sponsors, as well as a T-shirt. Racers must register by March 14, however, to be guaranteed a shirt. Awards will also be presented to the top three finishers in each division.
