“Shrek The Musical” is coming to Chaffey High School in December.

The musical is based on the Oscar-winning film and three sequels. Performances will be held Dec. 4-8 and Dec. 11-14 at Gardiner W. Spring Auditorium, 1245 N. Euclid Ave., Ontario.

Based on the lifechanging adventure that the ever-loving swamp ogre Shrek endures when trying to reclaim the deed to his land, “Shrek the Musical” is part romance, part twisted fairy tale and makes an unlikely hero for a show like no other.

Show times are at 7 p.m.

Thursday through Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sundays.

Tickets are $13 online at chsthespians.com, $15 at the door and $10 during a special family night on Monday, Dec. 8.

Shrek’s adventure begins in a kingdom far, far away from the Inland Empire where an ogre replaces the handsome prince that, according to fairy tales, is supposed to be the one to rescue the beautiful princess. But when Shrek steps in to save Princess Fiona from a mean, fire-breathing dragon, things couldn’t go more wrong. Their feisty relationship, a chatty donkey, a very short villain and other fairytale misfits will keep the audience entertained and in stitches.

Featuring a fantastic score of 19 all-new songs, big laughs, great dancing, terrific costumes, breathtaking scenery and lovable characters, “Shrek the Musical” is something the entire family will enjoy.
