Mt. SAC Planetarium offers public viewing of Monday eclipse

Mt. San Antonio College’s Randall Planetarium will provide the community with a way to safely view the Monday’s solar eclipse using solar telescopes, from 8:45 a.m. to noon, at the Mt. SAC Planetarium.

This event is free and open to the public.

Weather permitting, telescope viewing begins with a partial eclipse at 9:06 a.m., a maximum eclipse at 10:22 a.m., and ending with a partial eclipse at 11:45 a.m.

While parts of the United States will experience a total eclipse, Californians will see a partial solar eclipse.

During the event, the planetarium will also show a free program on eclipses.

The last total solar eclipse viewable from the United States was in February 1979. The next total solar eclipse visible in the United States will occur in April 2024.
