Windsong Southland Chorale will present the third concert of their 24th season 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at La Verne Heights Presbyterian Church, La Verne. Although February is the shortest month of the year, it has the most holidays, thus inspiring the title, “Spirit of Love, of Patriotism and Diversity.” Themes range from Valentines to Presidents to Black History. “A Tapestry of Music,” the winner of the Claremont Chorale’s 2018 Composition Contest, will receive its premiere performance March 23 at Bridges Hall of Music, Pomona College in Claremont. Composed by Sherry Blevins, the piece will be featured in the Chorale’s “Light and Love” concert together with two major works: John Rutter’s Requiem, and Brahms’ Liebeslieder Walzer, or LoveWaltzes.
