San Antonio Regional Hospital’s recent annual Health & Hot Rods car show encouraged men to be involved in their own health, while featuring a backdrop of great classic cars. The day included healthy eats, physician speakers, preventive screenings, opportunity drawings, and more than 100 cars, with some 250 guests. Best of Show honors went to Greg Hahs for his 1959 Goggomobil Dart, one of only three in the United States, and the only Goggomobile still operational. The mini car holds just 5 gallons of fuel, and is highly efficient, getting 50 mpg. The Most Original trophy went to Dan Campos for his 1954 Ford Customline, while the Best Modified award went to Richard Nehas for a 1966 Dodge Coronet. San Antonio Regional Hospital holds its Health & Hot Rods event each year during June, the nationally observed Men’s Health Month. Statistics show that many men still do not receive important preventive screenings and care. The event encourages men to learn more about their health and to seek routine tests that can help prevent significant and chronic health problems down the road. – Contributed by San Antonio Regional Hospital See also
