Claremont Chorale is proud to sing music from a variety of holiday
celebrations around the world. We’ll be performing a repertoire that
includes Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa music that represents the
diversity of practices and traditions of the season. Selections will
include contemporary compositions such as Lauridsen’s “O Magnum
Mysterium” and Rutter’s “What Sweeter Music.”
Come
celebrate the holiday season with us as we present songs from around
the globe including “Kling Glockchen, Kling!”, the spirited “Dide Ta
Deo!”, and an arrangement of Sweet Honey in the Rock’s “Seven
Principles.”
She Shall Have Music Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 3 p.m. Claremont Presbyterian Church 1111 N. Mountain Ave., Claremont In
celebration of Women’s History Month, the Claremont Chorale is excited
to produce a concert of music written by women composers. Although women
make up over half the world’s population, you’ll rarely find their
creative voices heard in the concert hall.
We’re honored to bring you
selected vocal music by women composers that crosses sacred, secular,
and sublime. The center piece of the concert will be “The Golden Harp,”
written by Gwyneth Walker for chorus and string quartet.
A Night at the Movies Saturday, May 30, 2020 at 3 p.m. Claremont Presbyterian Church 1111 N. Mountain Ave., Claremont Behind
nearly every great movie scene is an equally memorable musical moment.
Pay closer attention and you’ll notice just how many of these are
powered by the human voice.
From
the crystal purity of the opening of Frozen to the primal sounds of
Hans Zimmer’s score for Gladiator, there’s very little the voice can’t
express! For the final concert of our 2019-2020 season we’ve assembled a
blockbuster program of the highlights.
