dA Center for the Arts presents Allegories of an Invisible Brown Boy, works by Raul Pizarro, Artist’s Opening Reception, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at the gallery, 252 S. Main St. Pomona. The artist and the works show the power of art and the human spirit, shifting perceptions of art from exclusive to inclusive and prioritizing equitable art exploration. More than 50 works of art will be presented in this retrospective exhibition, displayed in three sections: Early Work, Songs for a deaf god, and Feral Allegories. The dA Center for the Arts is a non-profit arts organization operating in the Pomona Arts Colony since 1984. Dedicated to the community, the center serves to provide Inclusive, Accessible, and Equitable opportunities to experience, appreciate and support the arts through community art classes, events and exhibits.
