Hello Readers,

Welcome to the inaugural issue of Los Angeles Times Guide to Healthy Living, A Resource for Seniors and Their Families. We look forward to helping seniors and their loved ones navigate the golden years with grace.

There are myriad facets to healthy living, from mental and physical health to financial wellbeing and beyond. To empower our community’s ever-growing population of seniors, we’re presenting a variety of subjects, from telehealth, transportation, in-home care and virtual fitness to senior living options, reverse mortgages, meal delivery services, nutrition and beyond. This information can also be found on our website at latimes.com/seniorresources.

We’ve partnered with 211LA.org to bring you an extensive list of helpful resources, from assisted living and memory care facilities to medical and dental providers, adult day care solutions, legal aid, insurance companies and more. You’ll also find useful checklists of information, such as medical emergency data, key contacts, medication lists, and others, to keep you and your loved ones informed.

There are currently an estimated 1.5 million seniors 60 years of age and older living in L.A. County, according to the Los Angeles County Housing Resource Center, with that number expected to double in the next 20 years. Many reside in the Westside/South Bay areas shown on the coverage map below. We hope to bring peace of mind to as many of them as possible through this guide and future issues.

Yours in health, L.A. Times Brand Publishing Team
