Las Vegas’ most famous masked man disappears for good when “Phantom – The Las Vegas Spectacular” closes Sept. 2 after a six-year run. The hit show is staged in a custom-built theater that is totally tricked out to replicate the Paris Opera House, with $4 million worth of lavish costumes and 80 life-sized mannequins filling opera boxes. The pièce de résistance — a 2,000-pound chandelier that sparkles with 30,000 crystals. It serves up chills and thrills aplenty when it whooshes toward the audience.
