The main event will be a showdown between 120 varietals with contenders from above and below the equator. An all-access pass costs $199 per person; events can also be purchased a la carte, with prices ranging from $25 to $100. Guests can book their stay at Golden Nugget’s new Gold Club rooms, which include complimentary VIP check-in, Wi-Fi, spa facility passes and buffet line passes.

Commonwealth

Hipsters rejoice: Commonwealth, a pre-Prohibition-style pub with handcrafted cocktails to match, has opened on Fremont Street. The 6,000-square-foot lounge is outfitted with exposed brick, dark woods and a 20-foot bar adorned with an albino peacock sculpture commissioned by local artist Miguel Rodriguez. A rooftop patio hosts live music and a secret entrance leads to an intimate speakeasy with room for 28. The drink menu features seasonal cocktails and beers, plus a lineup of punch bowls meant to be shared.
