Decadent Desserts

Five of Sin City’s Most Sinful Sweets

Sometimes, a slice of cake just won’t cut it. And in Vegas — home to the biggest, the most expensive, and, yes, the sweetest desserts — it doesn’t have to. Whether you like your chocolate sprinkled with 24k gold flakes or a binge-vworthy treasure chest full of decadent goodies, you’ll find it here.

1. Craving that s’mores flavor but without all the icky nature? The new Some More S’mores at N9NE Steakhouse in Palms Casino Resort brings the classic American treat indoors and up a couple of (hundred) notches. Grab your skewer and roast a homemade strawberry, orange Grand Marnier or amaretto hazelnut flavored marshmallow with choclate ganache-covered graham crackers. ($12 for two)

2. Win big at the tables? The $750 Decadence d’Or Cupcake at Sweet Surrender in the Palazzo Las Vegas can be your decadent reward. This small sweet is made with Palmira Single Estate Chocolate and Tahitian gold vanilla “caviar,” topped with 100-year-old Louis XII de Remy Martin Cognac and edible metallic gold flakes.

3. For $1,000, you can be one of the few to try the the Golden Opulence Sundae at Serendipity3 in Caesar’s Palace. Dig into three scoops of Tahitian vanilla ice cream, exotic fruits, and rare chocolates, topped with 24K gold leaf, candied fruit, chocolate truffles, passion fruit-infused caviar and gold dragées. It’s served in a Baccarat Harcour goblet from Italy with an 18k gold-plated spoon you can keep.

4. Combine two of the most popular Vegas activities — gambling and overindulging — in Rick’s Tasting Game at rm Seafood in Mandalay Bay. Sample 16 flavors of ice creams and sorbets served blind — from vanilla to blue-berry buttermilk, mango salsa, honey mustard and coconut cream pie — then try to match the correct porcelain cup to its corresponding flavor. Get all of them right, and it’s on the house (rumor has it that’s never happened). Otherwise, fork (or spoon) over $18.

5. How can you not love a dessert that comes in a huge edible treasure chest? Especially when that chest is made of chocolate, painted with edible gold and filled with cake, ice cream, fried Oreos, berries and cookies and topped with whipped cream, sauces and sprinkles? The Treasure Chest at Caesar’s Palace’s Serendipity3 is perfect for a big celebration (or a bad breakup). ($88)
