Jean Philippe Patisserie Santa
Claus has arrived in Las Vegas, and you’ll find him sitting in his
favorite chair during the holidays at Jean Philippe Patisserie. Standing
five feet tall, the chocolate confection is made from 230 pounds of
dark chocolate and 50 pounds of fondant and is clad in a glistening suit
with sugar trim. Seated alongside Santa are edible presents with
fondant bows and ornamental trappings, hand-detailed using cacao butter
and gold powder. It’s a feast for the eyes and taste buds. JEAN PHILIPPE PATISSERIE The Bellagio 3600 Las Vegas Blvd. South 888.987.6667 www.jpchocolates.com

Faberge Revealed Organized
in partnership with the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, this new
exhibition at the Bellagio features 238 rare Faberge eggs from the
Russian imperial family of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Don’t
miss is the showcase’s signature piece: the Imperial Pelican Easter
Egg, created in 1897 to celebrate the Dowager Empress of Russia. The
crimson-gold egg unfolds into eight oval frames, each rimmed with pearls
and inscribed with names of the institutions that appear on the front.
