VEGAS GOES BIG WITH ROCK IN RIO MUSIC FESTIVAL

Missed your chance to get to Cochella this year but still want to live the festival lifestyle?

This spring, Las Vegas has you covered with a massive music festival: Rock in Rio. A first-of-its-kind event with the world’s biggest stars, it’s sure to hit all the right notes, showcasing why Las Vegas is known as the entertainment capital of the world.

The Brazilian import Rock in Rio is in its 30th year of existence and setting up for the first time on American soil. Broken up into two separate weekends —a rock weekend May 8 and 9 and a pop weekend May 15 and 16 — the festival will take place at the 40-acre MGM Resorts Festival Grounds on the north end of the Strip. Headliners include Metallica, Linkin Park, Taylor Swift, No Doubt, Bruno Mars and John Legend.

In addition to the star-studded lineup, the legendary music festival will boast its own “city” with three thematic “rock streets” that will capture the culture and sounds of Brazil, the U.K. and the United States with live music and performers. Other attractions will include a 64-foottall zip line that stretches 600 feet in front of the festival’s main stage, a Ferris wheel and more. Tickets are currently on sale and expected to sell out, so be sure to purchase in advance. www.rockinrio.com
