ULTIMATE FOODIE EXPERIENCE CELEBRATES 10 DELECTABLE YEARS
In its 10th year, Vegas Uncork’d by Bon Appetit has planned a culinary and wine festival that is incomparable in scale. Ambitious and finely tuned, Vegas Uncork’d offers one-of-akind experiences over four days that capture the spirit of the city and satisfy the cravings of any foodie.
From April 28 through May 1, attendees can indulge in skillfully prepared meals, sample tastings and cooking demos at four Strip resorts (Caesars Palace, the Cromwell, the Venetian and the Palazzo) and rub elbows with all-star mixologists, sommeliers and super chefs like Gordon Ramsay, Mary Sue Milliken, Susan Feniger and Nobu Matsuhisa.
“A lot of them have worked together, mentored each other or are just great friends, so it’s not only a great chance for guests to interact with their favorite chefs, it’s fun for the chefs to see some of their old pals,” explained Adam Rapoport, the editor-in-chief of Bon Appetit.
Perhaps the biggest draw of the event is the Grand Tasting at Caesars Palace. On Friday night, the aqua pools at the Garden of Gods Oasis transform into a scene of more than 50 restaurants and hundreds of chefs putting out their best. An estimated 2,500 guests are expected to attend.
“There’s live entertainment, a killer deejay and we cover the pool with a clear stage where guests can literally walk on water,” Rapoport said. “People get a little more dressed up, the music is just right, and there is this amazing energy that everyone feeds off of.”
Cuisines are diverse and range from Mexican to Japanese and even English pub-style grub. General admission tickets are $225, while early access passes are $300.
Rapoport confessed to the Vegas Guide, “I honestly hope that people walk away feeling enthusiastic and satisfied — not only with full stomachs but with an appreciation for what these chefs and resorts are doing in the middle of the desert.”
